In wonder

Or more of a promise
That she'd never forget
The girl
The boy
And the crazy mother
Who made that summer
The summer of her life
With all the change
And heartache
Or was it sheer happiness?
To make one sentiment
Of indescribable enchantment
For that one moment in time
She was invincible,
Ecstatic, and on top
On top of the world
For a short lived sliver of time
She was untouchable
When it came crashing in
Tumbling, collapsing
Into the ruins
All was lost in
The broken pact
The irreplaceable promise
Of sisterhood
Gone
Gone into the world
Of sun and surf
Beach and sand
On top of the world she was
And it all crumbled to ruins
Of what she called
The summer of her life
