Paint Cadmium
![]() Question about oil painting? I am doing a painting right now and I want to put neon red over neon blue in kind of a streaked pattern. First, how can I make neon red and neon blue looking colors with Prussian Blue and Cadmium Red? Second, will those two colors combine into an ugly purple if I paint the red over the blue directly after I paint on the blue? Here is an extremely rough rendition of the painting. I am planning on adding the blue and red to the large planet. The colors in the image are filling the entire area that they are placed in, it's just really hard to draw with a mouse. Tell me what you think of the design. The circles are actual circles in my painting. http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii186/moonman130/?action=view¤t=paintingrendition.jpg You need to keep the light edge on each color to suggest neon tube glow if you are attempting to recreate neon light on canvas otherwise: Yes, oil painting blue over red will get you an unlovely purple. paint up to crossing point, break the line and leave white canvas for the next color...this will be more difficult than just painting over the color, but will net the pure color you desire. |
