What is the name and model of this gun?
I need the name and model of the remington .22 rifle that cauks at the bottom. It loads at the site with the rod just like the Nylon 66 but cauks at the bottom instead of the side. Looks like semi auto maybe auto. hase lots of engravings on it even on the trigger gard. I need to restore one but cant find out anything about it pls help.
This could be one of several models. As you say, they all load through a hole in the side in the buttstock. All operations are through the bottom of the action. The cartridges feed over the top of the bolt, the ejection is out the bottom. The gun is charged by drawing the bolt body to the rear through the bottom of the action.
Some possible model numbers:

John Browning was the designer of this gun. Your make and model number will be on the left side of the action.
