where are the best beach glass/sea glass beaches in southern maine?
best locale?
is it crowded here?
any tools recommended?
I was just reading about this tonight, in National Geographic. Plus, I live in Maine. Any beach that is rocky is a good beach for sea glass. Peaks Island is a good spot. Also Middle Beach in Kennebunkport before tourist season. Popular beaches are crowded in the summer. We have a lot of beaches that are not crowded at all. But because of plastic, the supply of sea glass is almost exhausted, so you may not have much luck.
No tools needed, just some kind of bag to collect your treasures, and good shoes.
Also, if you see any clear glass, leave it so that it will become white sea glass someday.
